The low carb diet plan has been around for well over a century in one form or another. The diet has gained popularity over recent years making dieting more confusing than ever. High carb, low carb, no carb, good carb, bad carb… it’s tough for people to figure out just what type of low carb diet plan, if any, will aid in their weight loss. And if so, is it healthful?

Let’s start with the negative aspects of a low carb diet and end on a positive note with the up side to low carbohydrate dieting.

Clearly, a low carb diet is really no different than any other type of fad diet. Though one might be lead to believe that carbohydrates are the evil behind flabby abs and big bums, what the diet is really doing is cutting calories. As we all know, healthful weight loss occurs when caloric intake is lowered to allow for more calories burned than consumed. A low carbohydrate diet’s gimmick is that by cutting out a lot of if not all carbohydrate from the diet, far fewer calories are consumed. Sounds good, right? Read Full Entry

Love Hungry -Tales from the Darkside Diet -

Of all the episodes “Tales from the Darkside,” LOVE HUNGRY is my most favorite episode. It sticks in my head for all these years. Everytime I think about diet, I remember Betsy and her extreme weight loss program. I hope after seeing this video you will really WANT to lose weight :D

Video part 3 is my most favorite one. The end of the story is really funny and scary at the same time. Enjoy!

New Year’s Weight Loss Resolution

Can you believe that in a few more days we will be in year 2009? Time goes by so fast, doesn’t it? Last year I told myself that I wanted to lose 15 lbs. I haven’t even started yet and now the year 2008 almost come to an end. Instead of loosing weight I’m gaining 5 lbs arggghhh!!.

Everyday we hear the news about how bad the economy will be in the coming year. We don’t know what the year 2009 will be like. One thing we have to understand is that worry won’t change anything one bit. Let’s take a positive thing out of the negative. Be an optimist and believe that everything will be better. Despite the economic crisis, this is actually the best time to lose weight. Cut all the unnecessary spending, cut eating out and cook at home more. Read Full Entry

Anyone Struggling to Lose the Last Few Pounds?

I’m still struggling to loose the last 15 pounds I want to get rid of. I can’t believe it’s so hard for me to lose 15 pounds. I have been trying so hard for about 1 year now. I’m doing exercise regularly 4-5 days a week and am watching what I eat. But it seems I can’t lose that stubborn 15 pounds.  Help!!! What’s wrong with me? I’m not sure why.

My weight has been stable for about 3 years. I want to achieve my desired goal of weighing 100lbs but it seems so hard. The reason why I want to loose 15 pounds is because I’m not that tall. I’m only 4″11 and I think 100lbs is the best weight for my small frame. What do ya’ll think? Read Full Entry

The Weight Watchers®. diet is based on the idea that ” healthful weight loss occurs when we consume less food than we burn “.  Many of us know this, but find it difficult to apply it to our own lives.  Counting calories and weighing food to make sure we accomplish this mission just isn’t all that easy.  It’s time-consuming and if there’s one thing most of us are short on, that would be time.
